Almond–Peanut Poha is a light yet filling Indian breakfast made with flattened rice, crunchy nuts, and aromatic spices. It combines the softness of poha with the richness of almonds and peanuts, creating a wholesome, flavorful, and nutrient-rich meal.

Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Poha with Peanuts & Almonds
  • Ingredients (2 servings)
  • Poha (flattened rice) – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Green chili – 1 (optional), chopped
  • Curry leaves – 6–8 leaves
  • Raw peanuts – 2 tbsp
  • Whole almonds – 8–10 (soaked or raw)
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Sugar – ½ tsp (optional)
  • Oil – 1.5 tbsp (peanut or sunflower oil)
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Water – for rinsing poha

Preparation Steps

  • Rinse Poha
  • Put poha in a strainer, rinse gently for 10–15 seconds, and keep aside to soften.
  • Roast Nuts
  • Heat ½ tbsp oil in a pan.
  • Add almonds and peanuts, roast until golden. Remove and keep aside.
  • Temper & Sauté
  • Add remaining oil to the pan.
  • Add curry leaves, green chili, and onion.
  • Sauté until onions turn soft and slightly golden.
  • Seasoning
  • Add turmeric powder, mix for a few seconds.
  • Mix Poha
  • Add softened poha, salt, and sugar (optional).
  • Mix gently and cook for 2–3 minutes on low flame.
  • Finish & Serve
  • Add roasted peanuts and almonds, mix well.
  • Turn off heat, add lemon juice, and serve hot.
