Ingredients (2 servings)
- Poha with Peanuts & Almonds
- Ingredients (2 servings)
- Poha (flattened rice) – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
- Green chili – 1 (optional), chopped
- Curry leaves – 6–8 leaves
- Raw peanuts – 2 tbsp
- Whole almonds – 8–10 (soaked or raw)
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Sugar – ½ tsp (optional)
- Oil – 1.5 tbsp (peanut or sunflower oil)
- Lemon juice – 1 tsp
- Water – for rinsing poha
Preparation Steps
- Rinse Poha
- Put poha in a strainer, rinse gently for 10–15 seconds, and keep aside to soften.
- Roast Nuts
- Heat ½ tbsp oil in a pan.
- Add almonds and peanuts, roast until golden. Remove and keep aside.
- Temper & Sauté
- Add remaining oil to the pan.
- Add curry leaves, green chili, and onion.
- Sauté until onions turn soft and slightly golden.
- Seasoning
- Add turmeric powder, mix for a few seconds.
- Mix Poha
- Add softened poha, salt, and sugar (optional).
- Mix gently and cook for 2–3 minutes on low flame.
- Finish & Serve
- Add roasted peanuts and almonds, mix well.
- Turn off heat, add lemon juice, and serve hot.
